I am serving a term of 25 years to LIFE. I am a victim of the California’s Three Strikes Law. My third strike is for the nonviolent offense of possession of cocaine. It wasn’t even found on my person and was a miniscule piece of rock cocaine. The unconscionable sentences meted out by the State of California for nonviolent offenses is seriously contributing to the disintegration of the family unit. Especially in economically depressed and minority communities. My thirteen year old son cannot fathom that his father has been removed from him indefinitely and conceivably for the remainder of his life.
