No one was touched, threatened, injured or intimidated in any way, but a 12 pack of beer was allegedly missing and I received a sentence of 40 years to LIFE. I am not justifying any crime, but this is as miniscule a felony as any Court sees.  This is more time than you can get for murder.  The two prior offenses were nonviolent and 25 years apart.  In spite of this I was presented, and my photo shown, as one of the 26,000 convicted murderers, rapists, and child molesters in the TV commercial campaign Governor Schwarzenegger supported and said would be freed if Proposition 66 had passed!
